Review: Vaporesso Xros Mini Kit
Here we have Vaporesso’s latest venture into the ever growing world of Pod Kits, The XROS Mini.
Some readers may remember when the Original XROS was released to the public. It quickly established itself as the market leader in Pod Kits, beating out stiff competition from the Uwell Caliburn in all it’s iterations to cement its place at the top of the pile.
Vaporesso have decided to take the XROS we know and love, make it smaller and better in many ways!
This is a review from Adam, at ELQD ECIGS, and my opinions after using the kit since release.

First Look
At first glance the XROS Mini is an impressive kit in a small package, they’ve made a few minor changes to the shape of the original XROS including decreasing its size & removing the fire button on the face of the device. This means the XROS Mini relies on an auto-draw system for firing which makes for a satisfying Mouth-To-Lung (MTL) hit with every draw.
It also utilizes an impressive bit of tech wizardry to ensure that the device knows exactly which pod is installed in the kit and the optimal wattage to run said pod at, ensuring that every draw is consistent and satisfying.
Design & Build Quality
When it comes to build quality Vaporesso have always been one of the top dogs in the industry, and nothing changes when we talk about the XROS Mini. Coming in a great range of vibrant colours with impressively finished gradients on each kit. The XROS Mini is quite the looker when it comes to pod kits.
Each device is finished off with a textured effect to provide extra grip which solves the problem that some consumers had with the original XROS and its smooth, metallic finish which could sometimes cause the kit to slip from the hand when in use.
The pods are no exception, they fit snugly where they should due to the strong magnets situated on the bottom of each pod and the port on the device, ensuring that they stay in place and don’t fall out in your pocket or your hand. Each pod is designed using clear PCTG plastic so that you can easily see the quantity of liquid left in your pod with a quick glance whilst also being extremely durable.
The charging port is located on the bottom of the device and makes for a solid connection with any suitable Type-C charging cable with a charge time of approximately 45 minutes from 0%-100%.
How to use the XROS Mini
The XROS Mini is the definition of a no fuss device. It allows for a great vaping experience without the ‘faff’ of changing coils or complicated menus with multiple functions to choose from. The only thing that you need to keep an eye on is the LED battery indicator on the face of the device.
This LED indicator will flash different colours based on the current battery level of the device.
- Green means it’s between 100%-70%
- Blue means it’s between 70%-30%
- Red means the device is below 30%.
The LED may also flash red at times, this means the device is either out of charge or there is an atomizer error, try charging the device and/or changing the pod if this ever happens to you.
Filling the XROS Mini
- Remove the top from the pod, this can be done by bending the mouthpiece until it pops off
- Insert the nib of your bottle of E-Liquid through the seal seen on the top of the pod & squeeze until the pod is full
- If the pod is brand new, allow the pod to sit for at least 10 minutes before use to allow the coil to soak up the liquid
Due to the Auto-Draw feature there are no buttons you need to press to get the device to fire, so once you’ve allowed the pod to soak (if the pod is fresh), you’re good to go!
Performance
Where better to start than the battery life, with it’s impressive 1000mAh battery the XROS Mini is more than prepared for a full day of vaping. Here at ELQD we often found that we could easily get at least a day and a half going from 100% to empty when using the 1.2Ω pod that came with the kit, this stayed relatively similar when using the 0.8Ω pod (sold separately).
As for the pods, each of us tried both and can safely say that they are both outstanding in their field. When using the 1.2Ω pod I personally paired it with the tasty Wild Cherry, Fino Lemon & Frozen Blueberries from the Wild Roots range in 20mg and this pod did a great job bringing out all the subtle notes in the liquid. It definitely made for a delightful all day vape with plenty of flavour while suppressing most of the throat hit that would normally accompany 20mg liquids. This quality makes it perfect for people who like plenty of nicotine but want to eliminate the throat hit to enjoy a smooth vaping experience. Moving on to the 0.8Ω pod, I paired this with 10mg Blue Slush from our own Nicotine salts range, a personal favourite of mine. To say this pod is good for flavour is an understatement. From the start of the draw to the end this pod provides flavour in droves, a real punch from such a small kit! The 0.8Ω pod is all about flavour, and in my opinion it does that better than anything I’ve tried before.
Now let’s talk about the one problem that plagues nearly all pod kits…. Leaking. There’s nothing as awful as filling up a pod with your favourite liquid and leaving it for a while to come back to find the pod empty and all your liquid plastered everywhere. We’re glad to say that throughout our months of usage of the XROS Mini we had absolutely no leaking! Not a drop, barely even any condensation on the bottom of the pod. This is due to a unique feature to the XROS pods from Vaporesso. They’ve introduced brand new Triple Seal Protection, this is a combination of 3 silicone seals in order to ensure that every last drop of liquid stays where it is supposed to be!
Conclusion
The XROS Mini has well and truly exceeded all our expectations here at ELQD and we honestly cannot recommend it more. It’s simplicity & outstanding performance allows it to be a market leader in kits for beginners. It’s also great for anyone who has recently picked up the use of disposable E-Cigs as it’s similar in principle while being cheaper by up to £100 per month.
