Today we’re going to shine the spotlight on the latest and most advanced addition to the XROS range, the XROS Pro!

What follows is a review from Hannah and my thoughts on Vaporesso’s XROS Pro since release.

First Look

On first impressions, I was immediately drawn to the visually appealing and sturdy design of the XROS Pro. I went for the green version, which is a really nice emerald shade… if you’ve clocked on by now then you’ll have noticed I’m an awful fiend for green vape kits!

The device itself has a sturdy, high-grade build to it and a smooth polished finish that has a nice, non-slip grip feel in the hand. The front panel of the XROS Pro has a glossier finish which is a bit of a fingerprint magnet, but it also hides a slick OLED screen beneath it. The interface of the device has a bulged look, this may be due to the larger 1200mAh battery and possibly to cater for the OLED screen as well.

‘Vaporesso’ is branded on the device directly above the power button, and the device version ‘XROS Pro’ is etched on the base of the kit where the charging port is also located. On the back of the device, Vaporesso’s Avenger-esque logo is engraved.

Design & Build Quality

Made from aluminium alloy, there’s a heavier weight to the XROS Pro at 86g, not heavy enough that it’ll weigh down your pockets but robust enough to reinforce the assurance that this kit will not disappoint in its performance.

The new and improved COREX 2.0 pods (made of PCTG plastic) from Vaporesso, promise an increased 30% flavour reproduction, 15% vapour production and an exceeded endurance pod lifespan of 30% more! The XROS Pro is compatible with the entire range of XROS pods, including their new 0.4Ω pod.

On the backside of the XROS Pro is an airflow valve which can be adjusted to suit user preference – the pin itself is very sturdy and wont budge unless you move it.

One of the standout features of the XROS Pro is Vaporesso’s innovative Super Pulse Mode. This technology optimises the pod’s power output by pulsing the wattage at set increments, enhancing both flavour intensity and cloud density, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in a pod system.

Appearing only when the power button has been fired, an OLED screen shows you the current wattage or power mode, puff count and battery level. Pressing the power button a number of times allows you to change your wattage or mode status, reset the puff count and more… I’ll delve deeper into this in the next section.

A new feature to Vaporesso’s XROS pod kit series is the addition of a lock button. When the lock button is up the device is locked, the screen will show ‘lock’ with a symbol, and when the button is slid down it will unlock the device, allowing for manual firing and access to changing settings – the screen will show ‘unlock’. Personally, I think this is a fantastic add-on to pod kits that have a power button for preventing accidental firing when the device isn’t in use.

How to Use the XROS Pro

1. Remove the device from the packaging
2. Snap the mouthpiece off the pod and gently squeeze your e-liquid through the filling hole, tilting for a full fill
3. Pop the mouthpiece back on and ensure it’s shut firmly
4. If the pod is new, allow it to sit for at least 15 minutes before using to ensure the coil has primed
5. Remove the protective sticker from the base of the pre-installed pod
6. Press the power button 5 times quickly to power the device on or off
7. The XROS Pro is both draw-activated and button-activated – to activate auto-draw firing, simply inhale through the mouthpiece. For manual firing, slide the lock button down and hold the power button down when inhaling

Additional Settings:

The LED indicator will emit a green/blue/red light according to the device’s battery level during vaping.

• Green means it’s between 100% and 70%
• Blue means it’s between 70% and 30%
• Red means it’s below 30%

To turn the LED indicator on/off, press the power button 2 times quickly.

Press the power button 4 times quickly to reset the puff counter. Press the button once to choose YES or NO, and wait 3s to exit.

To charge the XROS Pro, use the included Type-C charging cable and a suitable power outlet. The screen will display the battery’s charging process and will turn off when fully charged.

Power Modes

The XROS Pro offers three power modes: Eco, Normal and Power.

• Eco (E): lower wattage output to preserve battery life
• Normal (N): standard output featuring Vaporesso’s Super Pulse technology, ensuring consistent power until the battery dies
• Power (P): higher wattage output and bigger cloud production

Press the power button 3 times quickly to change the power setting. Once you have it on your chosen setting, wait 3s to save the current status and exit.

When using the 0.4Ω pod, you can adjust the wattage output. Press the power button 3 times quickly to enter the power setting and then press the button to increase the wattage – each press increases the wattage in 0.5W increments. N.B. this can only be done with the 0.4Ω pod, which is slightly disappointing for vapers who prefer lower resistant pods.

Performance

Time to put the XROS Pro to the test!

I started out with the pre-installed 0.4Ω pod, pairing it with one of my favourites, Mr Blue from Elux’s Legend Nic Salt range in 10mg.

The 0.4Ω pod allows you to set your wattage between 15 – 30W, therefore I set mine to 26W. Kicking out a sensational mix of forest fruits, the 0.4Ω pod’s RDL hit really emphasised the juicy and jammy sweetness of blackberries, blueberries and raspberries, with an icy menthol hit to finish. The 0.4Ω pod is a real juice chugger, not entirely surprising as it is running at much higher wattage. I got around 16 hours and 226 puffs out of the device when using the 0.4Ω pod before it let me know that it was time to recharge.

In between testing the pods, I set my XROS Pro on the charger and came back 35 minutes later to a full battery… that’s an impressive charging time for such a big battery!

I then paired the Mr Blue with my go-to XROS pod for a more MTL hit, the 0.8Ω and I set the power mode to normal. With this I found the delicious berry medley flavour to be just as impactful with a more velvety smooth throat hit from the lower wattage pod. Vaporesso’s AXON Super Pulse technology ensures a consistent vape from start to finish and this was evident when I was only aware my battery had gone down to 0% as it started flashing, with no drop in performance as some pod kits show. With the 0.8Ω pod, I estimated around 23 hours of use and 388 puffs before the battery needed recharging!

Now a fair concern when it comes to pod kits is potential leaking, but with Vaporesso’s SSS Tech anti-leak protection pods, you can rest assured that you won’t have any major clean ups. In fact, with every XROS pod I’ve used over the past 3 years, the only leaking I’ve encountered was from pods at the end of their lifespan!

Conclusion

The experts over at Vaporesso have done it once again! The Xros Pro has knocked it out of the park with its increased battery size, higher wattage output and industry first for pod kits – the slide-lock button!
